26-Year-Old Indian Techie Drowns In Glacier National Park, USA
A 26-year-old Indian techie, Siddhant Vitthal Patil, drowned in Glacier National Park, USA, while on holiday with friends. Despite extensive searches, his body remains missing and he is presumed dead, according to park authorities.
Patil's tragic accident occurred on July 6 during a hike on the Avalanche Lake Trail. He fell off a large rock into Avalanche Creek. It is unclear whether he slipped or lost his balance.

Search Efforts and Family's Plea
The Maharashtra government has reached out to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for assistance in locating Patil's body. They have requested US authorities to intensify their search efforts.
Patil's friends witnessed him go underwater and resurface before being swept away by the current into the gorge. Police believe his body might be trapped by submerged obstacles like fallen trees or rocks.
Family's Last Contact
Hours before the incident, Patil had texted his mother from the park. His family shared this information on Friday. His maternal uncle, Pritesh Chaudhari, told PTI that Patil informed his mother about enjoying the trip with six other Indian friends.
In his message, Patil mentioned he would return to San Jose in three days. He worked at Cadence Design Systems in San Jose. Chaudhari added that both parents are devastated and unable to speak.
Authorities' Statement
The park authorities stated that despite ongoing searches, Patil's body has not been found. They continue to monitor the area for any signs of recovery.
Chaudhari has been in constant contact with the consulate since Monday but has received no updates regarding Patil's body. The family remains hopeful for closure.
Patil’s father retired from Maharashtra’s irrigation department in May. The family is deeply affected by this tragedy and seeks support from both Indian and US authorities.
