26/11 plotter Lakhvi's detention extended by a month
Islamabad, Jan 19: Islamabad High Court on Monday extended the detention of 26/11 mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi by one month from January 27.
According to media reports, the division bench of the HC gave the order after hearing the petition moved by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) which pleaded the court to cancel the bail granted to Lakhvi.
The FIA had filed the appeal before the High Court seeking to cancel the grant of post arrest bail to Lakhvi.
According to reports, the objective behind keeping Lakhvi behind the bars is to prevent him from attending meetings or potentially regrouping.

Lakhvi was put under detention after an anti-terrorism court granted him bail in the Mumbai attacks case on December 18.
Lakhvi was arrested in an abduction case and shifted to an Islamabad police station from Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, where he has been lodged since he was booked for his role in the Mumbai attacks.
