16 killed in road accident in Egypt
Cairo, Sep 7: At least 16 people were killed in a road accident after a microbus collided with a vehicle in southwest Egypt, officials said.
The accident took place yesterday at Al-Farafra-Al-Wahat Baharia road in New Valley governorate. Last month, 12 people were killed in a road accident in Upper Egypt.

In another accident, 22 people were killed in a road accident after a tyre of a microbus exploded on the road in Dakahlia governorate. Egypt has one of the world's highest accident rates due to to careless driving and poor state of roads.
The WHO ranks Egypt as world's tenth worst country in road accidents, after India, China and the US.
