Mexico: At least 14 killed in rainstorms

Mexico City, Sept 15: At least 14 people were killed and thousands evacuated in Mexico as torrential rains brought by hurricane Ingrid and tropical storm Manuel lashed the country.
Many people died in traffic accidents and landslides Saturday, reported Xinhua citing civil protection authorities.
In Veracruz state, around 5,400 people left their homes, and 3,600 of them were put up in government shelters, said local officials.
Ingrid strengthened Saturday to become a category 1 hurricane, the Mexican National Meteorological Service said.
