Ujjwala push: India becomes world's 2nd largest LPG consumer
New Delhi, Feb 06: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious Ujjawala Yojana has propelled India into the world's second largest LPG consumer whose demand is projected to rise 34 percent by 2025. The scheme, which has provided over seven crore LPG connections, has made India the second-largest consumer of LPG in the world. India has taken the second place from Japan while only China remains ahead of it in terms of LPG connections and consumption. Here is what India has achieved after govt's Ujjwala push.
