New Delhi, Aug 16: Pending for nearly two decades, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a go-ahead for creation of the office of the chief of defence staff.
Who is Chief of Defence Staff (CDS)?
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) will integrate the operations of the three forces: Indian Army, Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy.
The Chief of Defence Staff will also play the role of military advisor on important defence and strategic issues for the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the country.
