BJP’s victory, explained in numbers

New Delhi, May 28: The stellar performance by the BJP in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections has also ensured that the party has surpassed its highest vote share ever.

The BJP's vote share alone stood at 37.4 per cent, while the NDA secured 45 per cent of the votes. In the 2014 elections, the NDA had secured a vote share of 38 per cent. On the other hand the Congress managed a vote share of just 19.5 per cent.

Interestingly the BJP's vote share increased in 15 states. Let us take a look at the numbers.
