YouTube Down? Thousands of Users Report Outage During Uploading Videos, Streaming Online

Is YouTube Down? Users across several countries including India reported issues accessing YouTube on Wednesday, with many complaining about videos not uploading, blank homepages, app crashes, and errors on YouTube Studio.

According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, the majority of complaints were linked to video streaming issues. Around 39 per cent of users reported problems playing videos, with many facing buffering, playback failures, or videos refusing to load altogether.

Thousands of YouTube users reported issues with the platform with many complaining about problems while streaming videos and uploading content online. The outage affected viewers as well as creators, sparking widespread reactions across social media platforms.

Several users took to social media platform X to share screenshots showing messages such as "Something went wrong" while trying to upload videos and "Server error," while creators also complained about difficulties accessing analytics and upload tools on YouTube Studio.

Another 24 per cent of users reported problems with the YouTube app itself. Several users claimed the application was crashing, freezing, or displaying blank pages when opened. Creators also highlighted issues while accessing YouTube Studio and analytics tools.

Meanwhile, 20 per cent of the reports were related to server connection problems. Users complained that YouTube was showing messages such as "Server error," "Something went wrong," or failing to connect altogether during the outage.

The disruption triggered reactions across social media, with many users turning to X and other platforms to check whether the issue was widespread. Memes and complaints quickly flooded timelines as viewers struggled to access videos and live streams.

As of now, YouTube has not officially confirmed the exact reason behind the outage. However, such temporary disruptions are usually resolved after backend fixes and server stabilisation.

Users facing issues are advised to restart the app, check internet connectivity, clear cache, or wait until services are fully restored.

Earlier in February 2026, YouTube suffered one of its biggest global outages in recent years after a failure in its recommendation system prevented videos from appearing across YouTube, YouTube Music, YouTube Kids, and YouTube TV. More than 300,000 outage reports were recorded during that disruption.

Users facing issues are being advised to refresh the app, clear cache, or wait for official updates from YouTube support channels if the problem persists.
