Major security lapse! Youth shoots himself at Delhi's Rajiv Chowk Metro Station
New Delhi, Oct 1: In what could be understood as a major security lapse, a man has reportedly shot himself up in his left shoulder at New Delhi's Rajiv Chowk Metro Station.
The 22-year-old youth sneaked in a pistol inside the metro station with which he shot himself at one of the platforms.
He was immediately rushed to RML hospital. Luckily, the youth, survived in the fatal incident which occurred at around 9.30 pm.
However, motive behind the man's committing suicide is still unknown.
Carrying firearm is strictly prohibited in the Delhi Metro. Thus, it could be termed as major security lapse as to how the CISF security personnel failed to detect the country-made-pistol.
Rajiv Chowk is one of the busiest metro stations in the Delhi Metro and is located underneath the busy Connaught Place market in central Delhi.
