Singh and Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan presented awards to the winners. Each received a cash prize of Rs 10,000, a medal, and a certificate. These winners are part of nearly 10,000 special guests attending the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path on Sunday. Singh praised the collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Education in connecting youth with India's heroic history through Veer Gatha.

Youth as Future Heroes

The Defence Minister described the youth as future heroes who will significantly contribute to making India a developed nation by 2047, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. He stated that true heroes work for national upliftment and inspire societal change through their actions.

Singh acknowledged the participation of over 1.76 crore students nationwide in this fourth edition of Veer Gatha. He noted that this initiative recognises bravehearts through education. He commended the intelligence, enthusiasm, and patriotism displayed by students in the competition.

Inspiration from Bravehearts

Singh urged students to draw inspiration from freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Ashfaqulla Khan, and courageous soldiers whose bravery and sacrifices remain unforgettable. Meanwhile, on the eve of the 76th Republic Day celebrations, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth awarded prizes to winners of the National School Band Competition.

The pipe band from PM Shri Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Jharkhand's Eastern Zone won first place in the girls' category. This band will be a highlight during the parade at Kartavya Path, performing alongside a military band team at the rostrum.

Band Performances

Two other bands will perform at Vijay Chowk during the Beating Retreat Ceremony on January 29. These include a boys' pipe band from PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Belagavi Cantt., Karnataka Southern Zone; and a girls' brass band from Government Senior Secondary School West Point, Gangtok, Sikkim Eastern Zone.

The event underscored the importance of recognising young talent and fostering a sense of national pride among them. By celebrating these achievements, India aims to inspire future generations to contribute positively to society and uphold the legacy of its bravehearts.
