Yogi cabinet's promises hard to implement on ground: JD-U
One of the most important decisions taken by the Yogi's cabinet was to ensure 18 hours of power supply in the rural areas of the state.
A day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led cabinet announced a slew of measures to improve the power situation in the state, the Janata Dal-United on Wednesday said such decisions would be hard to implement on the ground.

JD (U) leader Ajay Alok said that it is easier to take decisions in a cabinet meet, but the ground realities are entirely different. He said it needs to be seen how Adityanath makes these decisions work to benefit the common man.
Another JD (U) leader K.C. Tyagi told a leading news agency that he would give three months to Adityanath's government before making any assessment. Taking a dig at the previous government, Tyagi said such tall claims were made even by Akhilesh Yadav's government.
Several important decisions were taken at the second Uttar Pradesh cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. One of the most important decisions taken by the cabinet was to ensure 18 hours of power supply in the rural areas of the state.

Speaking to the media after the cabinet meeting, state minister Shrikant Sharma said that the chief minister wants transformers to be installed in the villages within 48 hours, while in for cities the time limit has been set to 24 hours. He also warned the power department officials of stern action if they fail to adhere to the set time frame.
Sharma said that Adityanath is committed to working towards the betterment of farmers. He said a 'power for all' initiative would be launched in the state in presence of Power Minister Piyush Goyal. Under this initiative, the aim would be to electrify every village in the state by 2019.
