The Uttar Pradesh government is drawing up a large transport overhaul, centred on high-speed links and local access. Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, officials are shaping plans that include high-speed rail, orbital corridors, metro expansion and water transport, all aligned with Vision 2047 and 'Viksit Uttar Pradesh’, to make travel faster, safer and more reliable for people and businesses.

At the core of this plan is a proposed high-speed rail network that will connect major cities and economic hubs. The government is preparing a detailed roadmap to lay more than a thousand kilometres of high-speed routes across the state. This network is intended to cut travel time, support daily commuting and encourage industrial activity along these new corridors.
