Yogi Adityanath, Mohan Bhagwat To Meet Today As BJP, RSS Rift Buzz Escalates

The meet between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat in Gorakhpur today is set against a backdrop of political turbulence and speculation about a rift between the BJP and its ideological mentor - RSS.

While the meeting is officially described as a "courtesy meet," its timing and context are significant.

The RSS and BJP relationship has been under scrutiny following Mohan Bhagwat's recent speech in Nagpur, where he criticised the arrogance in political leadership, a remark seen by some as directed at the BJP's top brass, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This has fueled speculation of internal discord, which both organizations have denied. The RSS emphasised that Bhagwat's comments were intended as a motivational message rather than a criticism, reported NDTV.

Bhagwat had said, "True sevak should serve without arrogance".

Indresh Kumar, another senior RSS leader, also slammed BJP's approach, highlighting arrogance within the party, particularly in its handling of the Ram Temple issue. However, RSS has distanced itself from these remarks, attempting to redirect the narrative towards the Congress-led INDIA bloc's failures.

The saffron party's electoral performance has been disappointing, especially in UP, where it saw a significant decline from previous elections, losing several key seats. Factors such as farmer discontent, unemployment, and inflation are being discussed as reasons for BJP's poor show.
