Yogi Adityanath effect: No pan masala, plastic bags in govt offices
The clean-up drive seems to have started with government offices in Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assumed office.
No more pan, pan masala or plastic bags will be allowed in government offices and buildings in Uttar Pradesh. The deputy Chief Minister of the state, K P Maurya told reporters that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had advised against the use of pan, plastic bags and pan masalas in government offices after inspections.
Keshav Prasad Maurya told reporters that the Chief minister sought to ban selling and consumption of gutka, pan, pan masala and plastic bags in state government offices and buildings to ensure they are clean. Stains inside the office premises seem to have irked Yogi Adityanath who ordered the cleanup.

In his speech in the parliament on Tuesday, Yogi Adityanath had stated that 'many things will be stopped in Uttar Pradesh'. While he did not reveal much about what his government intended to stop, the cleanup drive seems to have kickstarted with government offices.
