UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Denounces Terror Attack on Pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir

In a tragic incident that shook the nation, a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district was attacked by terrorists on Sunday evening, resulting in the loss of nine lives and leaving 33 injured. The bus, which was en route from Shiv Khori temple to Katra, encountered gunfire near Teryath village in the Poni area around 6.10 pm, causing it to veer off the road and fall into a deep gorge. The 53-seater vehicle was transporting devotees from Uttar Pradesh to the revered site.

Yogi Condemns J-K Pilgrim Attack

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his profound sorrow over the incident, describing it as a "cowardly attack" on pilgrims. Through a series of posts on X in Hindi, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for a swift recovery for those injured. "My heartfelt condolences to the departed souls. My sympathies are with the grieving families. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant the departed souls a place at his holy feet and provide speedy recovery to all the injured," Adityanath conveyed.

In response to the tragedy, Chief Minister Adityanath has taken immediate action, instructing the Additional Chief Secretary Home and Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh to liaise with the local administration in Jammu and Kashmir. Their directive is to ensure that those injured receive proper treatment and that their safety is guaranteed.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also took to X to condemn the attack, highlighting its cowardice and extending prayers for the recovery of the injured and peace for the souls lost. "The terrorist attack on a bus full of devotees going to Mata Vaishno Devi in Jammu and Kashmir is extremely cowardly and condemnable. I pray to God that the injured in the incident recover as soon as possible and that the departed souls find a place at his holy feet. Om Shanti," Maurya posted in Hindi.

This incident has not only resulted in a tragic loss of life but has also sparked widespread condemnation from leaders across the nation, reflecting a collective mourning and a strong denouncement of terrorism. The authorities are currently investigating the attack, with efforts underway to provide assistance to those affected by this heinous act.
