YEIDA to buy farmers' land from April 15
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will start purchasing the land from the farmers for industrial development near the Noida airport from April 15.
The purchased land will be given to the investors who would like to set up their industrial units along the Yamuna Expressway, according to a report in Hindustan Times.

"We will start buying the land from land owners who want to sell their land for the planned development around the airport. We will follow the laid down procedures and purchase the land required for the development," the daily quoted YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh as saying.
The land will be purchased from 10 villages such as Maqsudpur, Rabupura, Birampur, Tirthali, Murad Garhi, Kureb and Myana.
The YEIDA can buy the land through the 2013 Land Act or directly from the farmers who are willing to sell. The second option is said to be the easier one. "By purchasing land directly from the farmers, we can procure the land more easily and ready it for the required purposes," said Singh.
YEIDA officials claim that farmers are interest to sell their land as it is paying a rate of Rs 3,100 per square metre besides rehabilitation benefits, the report added.
"After the Uttar Pradesh government hiked the land rates from Rs 2,300 to Rs 3,100 per square, farmers are ready to give up their land for development as the move will also create jobs in the region," said Kapil Singh, a farmer from Birampur village.
YEIDA intends to develop an Electronic City in Sector 10, a Film City in Sector 21, a Medical Device Park in Sector 28, an Apparel Park in Sector 29, besides commercial and industrial development in Sector 32.
"We have got the land in all of these sectors as we had acquired them earlier too. But still some patches are left to be purchased from farmers to complete the development work in these sectors," said Singh.
The Noida airport is strategically located at about 72 km from IGI Airport, about 52 km from Noida, about 130 km from Agra and about 90 km from Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (MMLG) at Dadri. The authorities are hoping to complete the first phase of the project by the end of September this year.
Spread over an area of 1,334 acre, the Noida airport is being developed by Noida International Airport NIAL under Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), which is a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG.
According to the developer, a multi-modal connectivity, an integrated cargo hub and facilities for maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft are among the key features of the master plan for the upcoming Noida airport at Jewar. There are also plans to make it a transit hub.
