UP News: Yamuna Expressway: 500 Acres Each Proposed for Japan City and Singapore City

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has submitted a proposal to the Uttar Pradesh government to develop Japan City and Singapore City along the Yamuna Expressway. Each project allocates 500 acres within Sector 5A and Sector 7, designed as multipurpose industrial zones with balanced industrial, residential, commercial and institutional use, under an EPC model.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has formally sent a proposal to the Uttar Pradesh government for the development of Japan City and Singapore City along the Yamuna Expressway corridor.

In a letter dated February 18, 2026, the Authority informed the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner, Government of Uttar Pradesh, that land has been identified within its notified area for the two proposed projects. YEIDA CEO R.K. Singh stated that preparations related to land acquisition for both cities have been completed.

According to the letter, in view of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's proposed official visit to Japan and Singapore, the Authority had been directed to identify suitable land within its jurisdiction for the development of Japan City and Singapore City and submit relevant details. Following this directive, Sector 5A and Sector 7 in Greater Noida have been proposed for the projects.

To Be Developed as Multipurpose Industrial Zones

As per YEIDA's master plan, both Sector 5A and Sector 7 are designated as multipurpose industrial areas. At least 70 percent of the land in these sectors has been earmarked for industrial use. Residential use has been capped at a maximum of 12 percent, commercial use at up to 13 percent, and institutional facilities will account for a minimum of 5 percent. The Authority noted that these sectors have the potential to be developed as integrated industrial cities with a balanced mix of industrial, residential, commercial, and institutional infrastructure.

500 Acres Each for Japan City and Singapore City

For Japan City, 500 acres have been proposed in Sector 5A, Greater Noida. Similarly, 500 acres have been earmarked in Sector 7, Greater Noida, for Singapore City. Land acquisition has been proposed for both projects.

The development of these sectors is planned under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) model, ensuring streamlined execution and timely completion. The proposal marks a significant step toward enhancing industrial investment and strengthening international collaboration in Uttar Pradesh's rapidly expanding Yamuna Expressway region.
