'Vijayendra will not contest from Varuna,' says Yeddyurappa
In a surprising political development, BS Yeddyurappa said his son BY Vijayendra will not file nomination papers from Varuna assembly constituency. BY Vijayendra was supposed to file nominations today. Yeddyurappa announced this decision while addressing party workers in Nanjanagudu.

Soon after the announcement, party workers created a ruckus in the party meeting and gheraoed Vijayendra's vehicle. Police escorted Vijayendra out of the venue in their vehicle. Police resorted to lathi-charge to control the situation. Party workers went to the stage and broke chairs to express their displeasure and anger against the decision.
Vijayendra was supposed to take on CM Siddaramaiah's son Dr. Yathindra from Varuna constituency. However, the formal decision is expected as the BJP will release its final list today.
The BJP is keeping everyone guessing. While it released its 4th list with the names of 7 candidates, it is yet to make an announcement regarding four constituencies. The party is yet to announce the names for the Varuna, Badami, Sakleshpur and Sidlaghatta constituencies. It would be interesting to see who will take on Siddaramaiah in Badami and Dr. Yathindra in Varuna.
