World must make efforts to weed out terrorism: Prakash Javadekar

I deplore this attack: Javadekar
New Delhi, Nov 3: Deploring the suicide attack near Wagah border in Pakistan, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Monday, Nov 3 said the world must make urgent efforts to combat the "great challenge" posed by terrorism.

"I deplore this attack. But this also shows the great challenge the world community is facing in combating terrorism and to that end, the world must make efforts to combat this challenge and that is the only way to weed out terrorism," the Information and Broadcasting Minister said on the sidelines of a function here.

At least 61 people were killed and nearly 200 injured when a suicide attacker detonated a powerful bomb at Wagah in Pakistan on Sunday, Nov 2, minutes after the popular flag-lowering ceremony at the main Indo-Pak land border crossing.

PM Narendra Modi condemned the attack and said that 'terror attack in Pakistan near Wagah border is shocking.'
