A hard-fought goalless draw at the Maracana stadium ensured France topped FIFA World Cup Group E, but sent their opponents, 10-men Ecuador, home on Wednesday.

Star Argentine footballer Lionel Messi Wednesday (June 25) became his country's fifth top scorer at a FIFA World Cup, after scoring two of three goals to defeat Nigeria 3-2 in a Group F clash.
