Won't approve Kasturirangan report: CPM manifesto

Thiruvananthapuram, March 20: CPM in the state has promised in its election manifesto that the party won't approve the controversial Kasturirangan Commitee report, if it is voted to power.

Kasturirangan Committee report is one of the burning polls issues in the south Indian state, where a major part of Western Ghats lies.

The Left party has also promised that they would pass the Women Reservation Bill. "We will frame a new Food Security Bill and also, will renew the pension scheme", said party leaders. The manifesto was released by CPM General Secretary Prakash Karat in New Delhi.

The party has also vowed to ban the deadly pesticide Endosulfan, which is alleged to have caused several deaths in many villages in Kasargod district and Karnataka.
