Women's Day 2025: Five Daughters, One Dream: The Inspirational Journey of the Sagar Sisters

On the occasion of World Women's Day 2025, an extraordinary story from Faridpur tehsil in Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh, stands as a beacon of inspiration. The journey of the five daughters of Chandrasen Sagar and Meena Devi is a testament to the power of education and perseverance, turning societal taunts into applause.

The Sagar sisters - Arjit Sagar, Arpit Sagar, Akriti Sagar, Anshika, and Ankita - have rewritten the narrative of women's empowerment. In a society where educating daughters was often frowned upon, Chandrasen Sagar and Meena Devi stood firm in their belief that their daughters could achieve great heights through education.

Inspiring Story Of Sagar Sisters

From Taunts to Triumph Despite facing ridicule and skepticism from their community, the Sagar family prioritized education for their daughters. Chandrasen Sagar shared in an earlier interview with OneIndia Hindi how they were often questioned for investing in their daughters' education. However, the unwavering belief of the parents has now become a story of triumph.

The eldest daughter, Arjit Sagar, became an IRS officer by clearing the UPSC exam in 2009. Following her footsteps, Arpit Sagar cracked the IAS exam in 2015 and currently serves in the Gujarat cadre. The third daughter, Akriti Sagar, fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer by clearing the UPSC exam in 2016. The remaining two daughters, Anshika and Ankita, found success in graphic engineering, carving out their own paths in the world of technology.

A Message of Hope and Empowerment On this Women's Day, the story of the Sagar sisters serves as an inspiring message to women across the country. It highlights that education is the key to breaking barriers and earning respect in society. The Sagar sisters have proven that no dream is too big if pursued with dedication and hard work.

Their journey encourages every woman to chase her dreams, no matter the odds. As the world celebrates Women's Day 2025, the Sagar family's triumph reminds us that empowering women through education is not just a choice - it is the path to a better future.
