Woman trainee doctor kills self after failing her MD exam

Coimbatore, Mar 28: A 26-year-old woman doctor here allegedly committed suicide 'dejected' over failure to clear her MD examination, police said today.

Krithika, working as a trainee doctor in a private hospital in the city, hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Peelamedu here in the wee hours yesterday, they said.

Though her parents broke open her bedroom door and rushed her to a hospital, she died last evening without responding to treatment. Police said Krithika had appeared for her MD examinations recently, but failed to score pass marks, leading to depression, they said.
