Woman suicide case: Suspended cop declared absconder

, Jun 11: A local court has declared a suspended

inspector, charged with abetting suicide of a woman professor, as an absconder.

Judicial Magistrate First Class A P S Chouhan's court issued the order yesterday declaring the suspended inspector, Upmanyu Saxena, as an absconder after police informed that he could not be traced, despite an arrest warrant against him. R

aids had been conducted at many places including Saxena's house, residences of his relatives and other possible hide-outs but still he was not found, police told the court. Saxena was allegedly in a relationship with the woman professor working in a private college. She was found hanging at her flat in Misrod here on May 11.

Her family members had alleged that she was forced into a physical relationship with the suspended police officer at gun point.
