Woman sets herself on fire along with her two-yr-old son

Firozabad, Nov 10: A 22-year-old woman today allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze alongwith her two-year-old son in Dokaili village, police said.

Rachna sprinkled kerosene and self-immolated grabbing her son in her hands, incharge of Matsena police station Durgesh Kumar said.

The family members, who rushed to the spot hearing the child cry, tried to douse the flames but could not save the woman, police said adding the child also succumbed to burns when he was being rushed to the district hospital.

The bodies have been sent for post mortem examination. Family discord was said to be the cause of incident, Kumar added. The investigation is on in the matter, he added.
