Woman robbed of gold chain in Tamil Nadu

Virudhunagar (TN) June 27: A 40-year-old woman was pushed off her two-wheeler and robbed of her four sovereign gold chain by two unknown persons at Nariankulam near here on Monday,June 27.

The incident occurred when Vanitha, a teacher was on the way to her school at Mayathevanpatti from Rajapalayam, police said.

Two persons who had been following her on a bike, kicked her two-wheeler causing her to fall off the vehicle and took away her gold chain, bag containing Rs 2200 cash and a mobile phone before fleeing the spot.

Her colleagues reached the spot and took her to the hospital where her condition was said to be stable. Police said six cases of chain snatching had been reported in the recent days, following which a special team has been formed to nab the culprits.
