Woman refuses to marry after groom found drunk in UP

Kanpur, Dec 16: A 23-year-old woman refused to tie nuptial bond with a man after she found him in an inebriated state at their wedding ceremony near Hamirpur road here, police saidon Wednesday, Dec 16.

Sajeti, a resident of Sighaul village here, called off her wedding with Surendra Tiwari, who arrived at the place in an inebriated state, SP Surendra Tiwari said.

"Both the parties compromised without any police interference as no FIR was filed from either side," he said.

Police said that the man, along with his friends, arrived at the venue in an inebriated condition and was unable to control himself which caused the bride to call off the marriage.

"The groom's side tried to convince the bride, but she remained determined on her stand," police added.
