Gurugram Incident: Woman and Husband Engage in Violent Altercation Inside Police Station

In Gurugram, a woman and her husband clashed violently at a police station during a dowry harassment inquiry. The altercation escalated quickly, requiring police intervention and resulting in multiple arrests.

A chaotic incident unfolded at a women's police station in Sector 51 when a couple, involved in a dowry harassment case, began physically fighting. The altercation escalated to such an extent that additional officers were needed to separate them, according to police reports on Friday.

Dowry Harassment Case

Head constable Neelam reported that Pooja from Kanhai village had lodged a complaint against her husband, Manish, and his family for dowry harassment and domestic violence. Following this, the police launched an investigation and summoned both parties to the station on Thursday.

Pooja arrived with her family, while Manish came with his father and other relatives. During questioning by Neelam, tensions rose between the couple. The argument quickly escalated from verbal abuse to physical violence, as noted in Neelam's complaint.

Police Intervention

An FIR was filed based on the head constable's report under relevant sections of the BNS. Subsequently, Pooja, Manish, their in-laws, and other family members were arrested. However, they were later released on bail and continued cooperating with the ongoing investigation into the dowry allegations.

The senior police officer confirmed that despite their release, all parties involved are actively participating in the probe. The authorities are committed to thoroughly investigating the matter to ensure justice is served.
