Woman's fingers chopped off over cattle grazing
Malda, July 18: A woman and her son were seriously injured after being attacked by their neighbour, following an argument that they had over the woman's cattle grazing on the latter's paddy fields in Baisnabnagar in Malda district on Sunday.
The duo have been admitted to the hospital after an FIR was lodged against the neighbour Harun Sheikh and seven other people from the Baishnabnagar police station.

The seven people had prooked Sheikh, following which he had an altercation with the woman over cattle grazing in his farmlands. The woman said, "Sheikh allegedly attacked the woman with a sharp-edged weapon when she argued."
The names of the woman and the son have been withheld.
Doctors at the Malda Medical College say that two of the woman's fingers have been chopped off and the son had knife wounds all over his body. Both are in stable condition now.
Police officer said that the neighbours are being questioned now for clues. However, the seven named in the FIR have not been arrested yet.
