'Woman Commando' Who Went Viral 'Guarding' PM Modi Not Part Of SPG, Sources Confirm
A photo shared by BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut on her Instagram 'story' has been hailed as a major example of women's empowerment.
In the image, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen walking ahead of a woman dressed in a dark suit.

While Ranaut did not add any caption to indicate the woman's role, many speculated she could be a member of the highly trained Special Protection Group (SPG), an elite force responsible for providing close security to the Prime Minister, former Prime Minister, and their immediate family members.
However, security sources have confirmed that the woman is not part of the SPG.
She is actually a Personal Security Officer (PSO) to President Droupadi Murmu and holds the rank of Assistant Commandant in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
The country's armed forces also actively encourage women to join their ranks.
Female officers now command units such as air defence, signals, ordnance, intelligence, engineers, and service corps.
