Woman Akali Sarpanch booked for beating nurse in Punjab
Moga, Aug 17: Seven persons, including a Shiromani Akali Dal woman Sarpanch, were today booked for allegedly confining and assaulting a nurse at Dhurkot Kalan village here, police said.
The victim, one Manpreet Kaur complained that village Sarpanch Sarabjit Kaur, her son Bikramjit Singh and five others came to her house last week and locked her up in a room after beating her over some personal matter, they said.

After an investigation, a case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC against the accused, they said. No arrests have been made yet in this connection, they added.
