Without Hindus, The World Will Cease To Exist: RSS Chief Bhagwat

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday declared that Hindu society is central to sustaining the world, warning that "without Hindus, the world will cease to exist."

Addressing a gathering during his visit to Manipur, Bhagwat described Hindu society as "immortal" and said India had endured while ancient civilisations such as Greece, Egypt and Rome had vanished. "There is something in our civilisation that we are still here," he remarked.

On his first visit to Manipur since ethnic clashes rocked the state, Bhagwat positioned Hindu society as the global custodian of dharma. "Bharat is the name of an immortal civilisation... If Hindu Dharma perishes, so will the world's civilisations," he said.

The RSS chief reiterated his earlier view that Muslims and Christians in India share the same ancestral roots as Hindus, adding that "no one is a non-Hindu in India."

Turning to nation-building, Bhagwat emphasised the need for strength through economic self-reliance, military capability and knowledge. "Strength means economic ability. Our economy must be completely self-reliant. We should not be dependent on anyone," he said.

His remarks come amid the government's intensified push for swadeshi policies, following steep tariffs imposed by the United States under President Donald Trump on Indian imports. Bhagwat expressed optimism that collective societal resolve could overcome challenges, citing India's historical resilience.
