With terror being unleashed on Valley terrorists, the mobiles go missing
The Hizbul Mujahideen which has faced immense losses after the Indian security forces unleashed havoc on them has started to take damage control measures. Riyaz Naikoo, the chief of the Hizbul in the Kashmir Valley has directed all cadres to shun the mobile phones and also destroy SIM cards.
For the security agencies the mobile had become a tracking tool. In at least nine out of ten cases it was found that the terrorists were tracked through their cell phones. Recently a video had surfaced in which a terrorist is heard telling his cadres to switch off mobiles as they had been tracked by the security agencies.
Intelligence Bureau officials say that this is a new method adopted by the terrorists to stay undetected.
However this will not continue for long and they will be back to using their cell phones, the officer added. They are just buying some time and do not want to lose anymore men until they try and re-group. This tactic would however not succeed as the IB will rely on other methods including human intelligence to track them down, the officer also said.
