With Goa, Manipur up for debate, BJP issues whip to its LS members

The Bharatiya Janata Party has issued a whip to all its members to be present in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. The whip mandates that all members of the BJP be present in the House without fail as key issues are up for debate.

The whip has been issued as the BJP needs its full strength in the house as the opposition Congress plans on raising the Goa and Manipur issues. The Congress has been threatening to create a ruckus in the Lok Sabha after the Governor in both states invited the BJP to form the government despite finishing second in the just concluded assembly elections of 2017.

The Congress has even petitioned the Supreme Court seeking to stop Manohar Parrikar from taking over as the Chief Minister of Goa. Even in Manipur the Congress says that the game is far from over. The party even staked a claim to form the government stating that it is the single largest party and enjoys the support of the NPP which will help it cross the magic mark of 31 in the 60 member house.
