Winter to be cooler this year: IMD

Cooler than last year, but warmer than normal. That is how the winter is expected to be this year. This was said in a forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

During the period between December 2017 and February 2018, warmer than the normal maximum and minimum temperatures are likely across the country, the IMD said.

"However, the season's mean temperatures in most of the subdivisions are likely to be cooler than last year," IMD director general KJ Ramesh said.
