Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday exuded confidence that the BJP will return to power in Karnataka.

The one crore people believe that the BJP is working for them, Shah also said.

"It is important for a state to choose a party that believes in the unity of society and the welfare of all the people," he also said. The Home Minister said that the BJP is the only party which works on such ideologies.

Shah also added that the Congress had illegally kept four per cent reservation for Muslims in the state.

"The Constitution of India does not allow reservations based on religion. Hence the BJP government in Karnataka ended this practice and worked for the OBC reservation," Shah also said.

He also said that for the past 75 years several political parties had divided the country.

"For the past 75 years several political parties had divided the country into two different nations. Once the Narendra Modi government took over, the farmers benefitted. We have covered medical benefits up to Rs 5 lakh and have provided clean drinking water," the Home Minister also said.

Speaking about the 40 per cent commission allegation that has been levelled by the Congress, Shah said that there is no truth in the same.

"FIRs and complaints have been lodged, but the allegations have never been proven. It was an effort by the Congress to shift focus the corruption blame on to us," Shah also said.
