"We have handled the case very professionally with good speed and certainity and filed the charge sheet against the accused within a month. It was a premeditated and planned murder and we have gathered all possible evidence to ensure that the accused get the strictest punishment including the death penalty," Delhi Police Special CP Deepender Pathak told news agency ANI on Thursday.

According to reports, a 640-page charge sheet was submitted to the Rohini Court. The charges leveled against Sahil include multiple offenses such as sexual harassment and murder, leading to the application of Sections 302, 354A, and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Furthermore, Sahil has also been booked under Section 12 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Section 3(2)(v) of the SC/ST Act, and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, as reported by The Hindu.

The victim's father, who has been demanding the death penalty for the accused, said he was satisfied with the police investigation.

The family originally hails from Uttar Pradesh. They live in a tiny one-bedroom house in the area. Apart from the parents, the girl also has a 10-year-old brother. He did not seem to fully understand the loss of his sister at the crematorium.

The girl studied at a government school and had appeared for the Class 10 board exams this year. Her father said, "We don't know how much she scored, but she told us that she had passed." She aspired to become a lawyer, but for the time being, she had promised her parents that she would study to clear Class 12.

The girl's father said that she was a bright and cheerful child who loved to study. She was also very helpful around the house and took care of her younger brother. He said that he was devastated by her death and that he would never be able to forget her.
