Will A K Antony join BJP? His son answers
The rumour mills are buzzing that A K Antony too would quit the Congress after his son, Anil Antony joined the BJP today.
When asked about his father and his plans, Anil Antony said at a press conference that he shares a good relationship with his father. He also maintained that he took the right step by joining the BJP.

"All of us are very different people. He is my father so we have a good relationship. He is the person I love and respect the most in my life but this is not about personalities, this is about differences in opinions and ideas. And I strongly believe that I have taken the right step. But my respect and love for my father will always remain the same. There is no question of any politics in my family," Anil Antony said at the press meet alongside Union Minister, Piyush Goyal.
Anil who headed the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee's Digital Media cell, slammed the party leadership for working for a particular family. He said that the people should work hard for the people.
He quit the Congress after criticising the party's stand on the BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that he had been getting hate on the social media ever since he had taken this stance.
Anil had said that placing the views of the British broadcaster over Indian institutions would undermine the sovereignty of the country.
He had taken to Twitter and wrote, "despite large differences with BJP, I think those in placing views of BBC, a state sponsored channel with a long history of prejudices, and of Jack Straw, the brain behind the Iraq war, over institutions is setting a dangerous precedence, will undermine our sovereignty."
"I am sure that I have my own unique strengths which could have enabled me to contribute very effectively to the party in several ways. However, by now I have been made well aware that you, your colleagues, and the coterie around the leadership are only keen to work with a bunch of sycophants and chamchas, who would unquestionably be at your beck and call. This has become the lone criterion of merit. Sadly, we don't have much common ground," he said while taking a jibe at some of his colleagues.
