Wife, lover murder husband, electrocute father-in-law

Gurgaon, Aug 24: In a premeditated murder in a village in Gurgaon, Laxmi and Sonu attempted to electrocute her father-in-law Yashwant Singh in order to get hold of his properties. The incident unravelled the mystery of the woman's husband's death who died similarly.

The incident happened on August 3 when the duo gave a strong electric shock to the old man when he was sleeping in Narhera village under Pataudi police station. Unlike the husband, the father-in-law raised an alarm and intimated the neighbors. The culprits had fled the spot by that time.

POlice said that Laxmi's husband had died in similar circumstance (on April 15, 2015) that had culminated into an apparent natural death. Due to the ignorance of Laxmi's family, the police was not informed and the body was cremated without post mortem.

After attempting murder for the second time, the duo were moving from one area to another to escape police but were nabbed by the local police late on Saturday night.

"We arrested them from Gurgaon city on Saturday night under charges of murder and attempt to murder. We produced them in a local court which has sent them to judicial custody for 14 days," said a police spokesperson. Confessing to their crimes, the duo said that they wanted to kill the father-in-law to seize his property.
