As Sonam Raghuvanshi, with three others, surrendered before the cops in connection with the murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, her father has come to her support, saying his daughter will "never do such a thing" and demanded a CBI probe into the incident.

What Devi Singh Claims?

Speaking to ANI, Devi Singh has accused Meghalaya of spreading lies from the beginning and the cops have not allowed him to talk to her since her arrest. He said,"...My daughter is innocent. I have trust in my daughter. She cannot do this (kill her husband)... They got married with the consent of both families. The state (Meghalaya) Government has been lying from the beginning. My daughter came to a dhaba in Ghazipur last night and she called her brother...Police went to the dhaba, and she was taken from there.

Why Will My Daughter Kill Her Husband Raja Raghuvanshi Sonam Raghuvanshi s Father

I have not been able to speak to my daughter. Why will my daughter do such a thing (kill her husband)? The Meghalaya Police is lying. My daughter reached Ghazipur on her own. She was not arrested in Meghalaya. We were thinking of meeting Madhya Pradesh CM and then Union HM Amit Shah to request a CBI inquiry. Meghalaya Police is making up stories. Let the CBI inquiry begin, all officers at the police station (in Meghalaya) will be behind bars..."

He further accused the Meghalaya Police of being involved in his son-in-law's murder. "Sonam and Raja did not know each other before marriage. It was an arranged marriage. I have not been able to speak to my daughter. Meghalaya Police is trying to trap Sonam in this case. If CBI inquiry is done, officials of the Police Station in Meghalaya will be behind bars."

Singh also claimed that he has not spoken to his family, yet.

Announcing the news of a breakthrough in the case, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the cops have arrested four people in seven days in the murder case. Three 3 assailants are from Madhya Pradesh and the hunt for one more accused is still on.
