West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has strongly criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent roadside jhalmuri stop during the election campaign.

Speaking at a public event, Banerjee questioned the authenticity of the moment, calling it "drama" and accusing it of being pre-planned.

'All Acting': CM Banerjee

Mamata Banerjee raised doubts about whether the stop was genuine or staged for cameras.

Reacting to the incident, Mamata Banerjee raised several questions about the visit. She suggested that the entire episode appeared staged.

She questioned how cameras were already present inside the shop if the visit was not pre-planned. She also mocked the situation, asking whether such small gestures are realistic during election time.

Banerjee said people are aware of what is genuine and what is "acting," implying that the moment was designed to influence voters.

Sharp Remarks on 'Jhalmuri Moment'

The Chief Minister made sarcastic remarks about the Prime Minister's interaction with the vendor. She questioned whether such small cash transactions and casual stops are real or part of political messaging.

She suggested that the entire episode appeared scripted to connect with voters during elections.

Accusations of Political 'Acting'

Banerjee went further to call such public interactions "acting," saying people understand what is real and what is not.

She alleged that crowds at political rallies are often brought in from outside and claimed that such campaign strategies are designed to influence voters.

Warning Over Election Process

Along with her criticism, Mamata Banerjee also raised concerns about the election process.

She urged party workers and supporters to remain alert during polling and counting. She warned against any possible irregularities and asked them to stay at counting centres until all votes are properly recorded.

She also expressed concerns about electronic voting machines (EVMs), asking her supporters to ensure that no manipulation takes place.

What Happened During PM Modi's Jhalmuri Stop

During his campaign tour in West Bengal, PM Modi made an unexpected stop at a roadside stall in Jhargram on Sunday.

He interacted with the vendor and asked for jhalmuri, a popular Bengali snack made of puffed rice, spices, and chillies.

"Bhai, apka jhalmuri khilao, kitna? Accha se bana do jhalmuri," he told the shopkeeper.
The Prime Minister also insisted on paying for the snack. When asked about ingredients, he said everything should be added except salt, citing health reasons.

Later, he shared pictures and videos of the visit on social media, saying he enjoyed the snack during his busy campaign schedule.
