Why the Udhampur attack was an audacious one

New Delhi, Nov 16: The attack on the BSF convoy at Udhampur was done with a great deal of audacity, the National Investigation Agency has learnt.

The NIA arrested two key persons involved in the attack and have learnt that they used their car as a pilot vehicle while the terrorists were being ferried in a truck to the attack site.

Two key arrests:
The NIA arrested Khursheed Ahmed Ittoo and Fayaz Ahmed Ittoo alias Fayaz Welder for involvement in Udhampur BSF Convoy Attack. The NIA team alongwith the team of J&K Police carried out the arrests from the Kashmir valley.

Investigations has revealed that Khursheed Ahmed Ittoo used his Maruti-800 car as pilot vehicle of the truck in which militants Mohammed Naveed and Noman travelled from Kashmir valley to Udhampur and executed the attack at Samroli, district Udhampur.

Khursheed Ahmed Ittoo was in constant touch with the truck driver Fayaz Ahmed Ashwar alias Setha and he coordinated with the militants regarding the place of attack and other logistics. The entire conspiracy of Udhampur terrorist attack was executed in the house of Fayaz Welder in Kudwani, Kashmir valley.

NIA officials say that these significant arrests will further reveal the layers of conspiracy in Udhampur terrorist attack case. The manner in which this entire strike was planned and executed shows the audacity of the terrorists.

They made sure that they left nothing to chance and wanted to ensure that the entire attack was fool proof, NIA officials also point out while adding that it was the local link which help the ISI sponsored, Lashkar-e-Tayiba the most.
