Why should I be woken up by Azaan: Sonu Nigam kicks up a row

A tweet by singer, Sonu Nigam has sent twitterati into a frenzy. "God bless everyone. I am not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India," Sonu Nigam tweeted.

He went on to add," and by the way Mohammad did not have electricity when he made Islam. Why do i have to have this cacophony after Edison."

There were mixed reactions to the tweets by the singer. One said on Twitter that Sonu Nigam who himself used to sing bhajan in Jagrata the whole night is now saying that Azaan is forced religiousness. Another tweeted, "God bless Sonu Nigam. I am not Sonu Nigam, yet I wake every morning to a world where Sonu Nigam exists. when will Sonu Nigam stop Sonu Nigam."
