Why Ratan Tata Never Married Anyone?

Ratan Tata, known for his visionary leadership and philanthropy, also had a love story that remained incomplete. While working in Los Angeles, he fell deeply in love and was close to marrying the woman. However, a sudden turn of events brought him back to India due to his grandmother's ill health, and the relationship couldn't proceed.

Despite his immense success in business, Ratan Tata chose to remain unmarried. In a candid interview with CNN, Tata revealed that he had fallen in love four times. When asked how many times he had been in love, he replied, "Seriously, four times."

One of his most serious relationships occurred while he worked at an architecture firm in LA. Reflecting on that period, he shared, "After college, I worked in LA for two years. It was a beautiful time-I had my own car, loved my job, and fell in love. I was close to getting married, but I decided to return to India temporarily to be with my grandmother, who wasn't well."

When he returned to the U.S. to marry his love, circumstances had changed. "The only reason we didn't marry was because she was supposed to come to India, but with the Indo-China war ongoing, she didn't come. She eventually married someone else in the U.S.," Tata recalled.

In the interview, he also admitted that he had come close to marriage four times but backed off each time for various reasons. "In hindsight, I guess it wasn't a bad thing I didn't marry. It would have been more complex had it happened," he said.

Tata was also romantically linked to actress Simi Garewal, and they were in a serious but private relationship. However, they eventually parted ways. Simi later married Delhi nobleman Ravi Mohan, but the marriage didn't last long.

In an episode of Simi's chat show Rendezvous, Tata admitted that there were moments when he missed having a wife and family. "There were so many times I came close to marriage, but it just didn't work out," he said.

Little is known about the other two relationships Tata referred to, but one thing remains clear-Ratan Tata had a magnetic charm. In fact, Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat once expressed on a talk show that she wanted to date him.
