Why PM Modi Chose February 5 For His Sacred Dip At Mahakumbh 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj on February 5, a day filled with spiritual and cultural significance. During his visit, PM Modi is expected to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, perform Ganga Aarti, and offer prayers at various sacred sites, including Akshayvat, Saraswati Koop, and Bade Hanuman Mandir.
Preparations are in full swing for this high-profile visit, as February 5 also marks an auspicious day in the Hindu calendar. Notably, it coincides with voting day for the Delhi Elections 2025.

Home Minister Amit Shah Leads the Way
Ahead of PM Modi's arrival, Home Minister Amit Shah took the holy dip at the Mahakumbh 2025 today, setting the stage for what is expected to be a massive turnout.
A Spiritual Gathering Like No Other
The Mahakumbh, held every 12 years, has drawn millions of devotees since it began on January 13 with Paush Purnima. Over 110 million people have already taken a holy dip at the sacred waters of Prayagraj during the first two weeks of the event, which runs until February 26.
February 5: A Day of Spiritual Significance
The date of PM Modi's Shahi Snan carries profound religious importance. February 5 coincides with Magh Ashtami, a sacred day in the Hindu calendar associated with devotion, meditation, and charity. Falling on the eighth day of the holy Magh month, it also aligns with Gupt Navratri, a spiritually significant period for Hindus.
Adding to the day's importance is Bhishma Ashtami, rooted in the epic Mahabharata. According to Hindu scriptures, Bhishma Pitamah, lying on his bed of arrows, awaited the transition of the Sun into Uttarayan and Shukla Paksha before attaining moksha (liberation). His unwavering faith and spiritual journey are honored on this day, which further elevates the significance of February 5.
