Why John Bolton thinks Ukraine is most threatened by China

Bolton has been a prominent critic of Chinese policies, especially on Taiwan. He has also been the one who has kept on attacking Chinese efforts to steal Western intellectual property.

One of the penchant advocates of the Iraq war as a Director of the "Project for the New American Century", John Bolton has been known for his outspoken personality. Since he has also been the US' Ambassador to the United Nations from August 2005 to December 2006, he knows more than a lot of other diplomats. Therefore, when he says that Ukraine is most threatened by China, it has some implications.

His statement came when the Chinese diplomats proposed a peace proposal between Russia and Ukraine. The former top US diplomat showed his doubts on the proposal and admitted that China cannot legitimately hold a position of neutrality in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The Western countries have already rejected the peace proposal from China. Bolton is one of the most right-wing ideologues in the USA and he has garnered this reputation for his hawkish, interventionist foreign policy stances. All throughout his career Bolton has been advocating for a strong USA and often warned his nation to beware of the Chinese emergence.

It's pertinent to note that throughout his political and diplomatic career, Bolton has been a prominent critic of Chinese policies, especially its policy on Taiwan. He has also been the one who has kept on attacking Chinese efforts to steal Western intellectual property. Although the Chinese diplomats in the UNO tried to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine, Bolton did not leave the opportunity to take a shot on the Chinese.

He questioned the nature of Chinese friendship with Russia and the vested interests that the earlier had on the proposal for peace. He has been quoted saying that a lot of so-called experts have said that China was dismayed by Russia's invasion of Ukraine and he thinks the world has seen recently that there is no positive proof.

Not just that, according to him China upped its imports of gas and oil from Russia, the proposal that China brought on table seems to be drafted by Russia. Bolton did not mince a word when he said that he thinks China's in this with both feet on Russia's side.

Blasting Chinese partisanship in the proposed peace plan, Bolton summed up that while he certainly does not diminish the threat that China poses to Taiwan, Ukraine itself is under threat from China.
