Why Dr Manmohan Singh Was Often Spotted Wearing Light Blue Turban?
Why was former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh frequently seen wearing blue turbans? The reason was revealed by the veteran Congressman back in 2013 on his trip to his alma mater - Cambridge.
"My memories of my days in Cambridge are deep," the Prime Minister remarked in a speech after being awarded an honorary doctorate of law by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.

"The colour light blue is one of my favourites and is often seen on my head."
A university official later explained that blue was the colour of the institution.
Prince Philip also referenced the topic in his brief speech, saying with some amusement: "You may note the colour of his turban."
Manmohan Singh, who became Prime Minister in 2004, went on to lead the country till 2014. He studied economics as an undergraduate and earned a first-class honours degree, the only first in his year for economics (1955-57).
