Why BJP Is Losing Big In Uttar Pradesh? Psephologist Yogendra Yadav's Key Points
Yogendra Yadav may be the one psephologist who accurately predicted the numbers for Uttar Pradesh in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
In Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party is leading in 36 seats while the BJP, which had won 62 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, is leading in 33 seats with the Congress leading in 7 seats by the time this story went for publishing.

The counting for the Lok Sabha polls held between April 19 and June 1 are taking place across the nation on Tuesday.
Yogendra Yadav had predicted a major political shift on the horizon in Uttar Pradesh. After speaking with hundreds of rural voters across 15 parliamentary constituencies from Meerut to Banaras, he concluded that the BJP is losing support across all castes.
He has again now made the same claims on his latest post which reads:"There could be a political earthquake in Uttar Pradesh. After talking to hundreds of rural voters in 15 parliamentary constituencies from Meerut to Banaras, it is clear that BJP's vote is slipping in all castes everywhere. Forget 70, it is impossible for BJP to save even 60 seats, I don't even see 50."
His Key points from the ground report Stated:
- There is no anger towards Modi, there is indifference. He gets the credit for ration but this time votes will not be cast in his name.
- Yogi is more popular than Modi, he gets the credit for ending hooliganism.
- There is a lot of anger against most of the BJP MPs and local leaders.
- Inflation and unemployment are on the minds of voters. Stray animals in villages are the biggest issue.
- Many voters want change because if we enter the third five-year period then dictatorship will begin
- Overall, one-fourth of BJP voters say that they will not vote for it this time. SP and Congress's vote share is intact. There is a slight decline in BSP but it is not going to BJP.
- If even one-tenth of BJP's votes shifts to SP-Congress in 2019, it could lose 20 seats. If it shifts more than this, the result will be completely reversed.
- Warning: Voting has taken place in only 16 seats so far and the situation can change, but right now the situation seems to be getting worse for BJP every day.
Note: This is not an exit poll or a magic survey. You can check it yourself. Go to any village and ask who you voted for last time and who you will vote for this time.
Meanwhile, the BJP is leading in 241 seats while the Congress is ahead in 98 seats.
