Who was the Sikh member with Pranab Mukherjee at the RSS event?

On Thursday, when Pranab Mukherjee was addressing an RSS event at Nagpur, all eyes were also on a Sikh RSS member who was on the stage. The member is Sardar Gajendra Singh, grant sanghchalak of Uttarakhand.

He is also the Sarvadhikari of the Sarva Shiksha Varg. Gajendra Singh is the additional advocate general in the Nainital High Court. He has been associated with the Sangh for several decades. He has served at the zila, vibhag and say-sanghchalak prant. He has also served as the general secretary of the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat.

The role of Singh has been an important one in the RSS. He has held parades and vyayam along with others who count on him for the work in the sharirik or physical department.

The inclusion of Sikhs in the Sangh is nothing new. The RSS has always considered Sikhs as part of the RSS and the Sangh has held events on Guru Gobind Jayanti. The RSS says this is part of their inclusive nature.
