Who Is Tantrik Kamruddin? The Alleged Occult Practitioner Arrested in Delhi Triple Murder Case

Seventy-two-year-old Kamruddin, described by police as a tantrik, is at the centre of the Delhi triple murder investigation after three people were found dead inside a car on the Peeragarhi flyover in Outer Delhi. The victims identified as Laxmi, Randhir (76) and Shiv Naresh (42) allegedly consumed poisoned laddus during what was presented as a "Dhanvarsha" ritual promising sudden financial gain or generate wealth.

Kamruddin alias Baba, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad, was arrested on Thursday and sent to five-day police remand.

Delhi Police arrested Kamruddin after tracing digital chats, call records and financial transactions. Investigators allege that Laxmi had contacted the tantrik seeking financial relief. A meeting was arranged in Loni, Ghaziabad, where the trio were allegedly asked to bring ₹2 lakh in cash along with soft drinks and alcohol for the ceremony. According to police, poisoned sweets were served during the ritual and the accused left with the money after the victims collapsed.

What Police Say About the Ritual and Investigation

Officers recovered liquor bottles, glasses and other material from the vehicle. Forensic teams are examining these items, along with the sweets believed to have been consumed. Police sources said Kamruddin underwent a psychological assessment during questioning and allegedly displayed little visible remorse.

The investigation widened after officers began reviewing older complaints linked to his name. Police believe he learned occult practices around 2010 in Uttar Pradesh and later began presenting himself as a tantrik and spiritual healer. He allegedly offered solutions for financial troubles, illnesses and personal disputes.

Background, Lifestyle and Alleged Net Worth

Kamruddin originally hails from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh but had been living in Loni near Ghaziabad for several years. Locals described him as a soft-spoken elderly man who received visitors at all hours. His house reportedly had a shrine-like setup on the ground floor where rituals were conducted.

Neighbours claim that about nine years ago, the family lived modestly in a small room. Over time, several properties were reportedly acquired in the same lane. Police are now verifying ownership records, property documents and bank details to assess the extent of wealth accumulated through alleged ritual services.

According to local accounts, the family runs multiple small businesses including a kirana store and food outlets. There are also claims of plots and a marriage hall in Firozabad linked to relatives. While there is no officially confirmed figure regarding his net worth, investigators believe the total value of properties and businesses could amount to several crores, subject to verification.

Links to Other Cases

Delhi Police are also examining Kamruddin's alleged involvement in earlier cases in Firozabad and Rajasthan. In one instance, officers said he is an accused in a double murder case. Another case reportedly involved ritual advice linked to a death. Investigators are reviewing whether similar methods were used across states.

Teams have travelled to Uttar Pradesh and other locations to question property dealers and gather additional evidence. Officers are also searching for a suspected second mobile phone that may contain further digital records.

Kamruddin remains in custody as forensic results, financial trails and inter-state links are examined. Police are trying to determine whether more victims may be connected to the alleged activities of the tantrik.

The Delhi triple murder case has now expanded beyond a single incident, with investigators probing financial motives, property accumulation and possible connections to earlier suspicious deaths.
